You asked and we listened. Some of you requested that you did not wish to see the comments section as it provided no extra value. So we have removed it for a more streamlined web browsing experience.
Comments Section Removed
February 6th, 2010A New View – 2 x 2 Grid
May 26th, 2009A fifth view, called 2 x 2 Grid, has been added. It allows for the split-screen viewing of four websites. It’s great for viewing webcam streams, twitter search streams, or whatever else you wish.

Higher URL Per Groupmark limit
April 30th, 2009The 10 URL per groupmark limit has been removed. So now you can add more URLs into a single groupmark. Feel free to let us know what you would like the upper limit for URLs/groupmark to be.
Change of motto
April 4th, 2009We had a little change of mind motto. No big deal.
Old motto: “Smart Web Viewing”
New motto: “Group, view, share, and discuss your favorite websites.”
Don’t get us wrong, Viewista is still a smart way to view the web, but we feel that the new motto is less abstract and represents our service a whole lot better. Don’t you think?
Comments for you talkative types
April 4th, 2009Okay, so now you can post comments for all of the websites that you are viewing. The post comment box will appear below the website. We are now asking users to create a username, which will be displayed along with your comment, if you choose to comment. It works just like you are use to on other sites (eg. YouTube) so you shouldn’t have any problem figuring it out. This should make your time spent on Viewista more interesting. So go ahead and post your pithy comments!
Improvements to Horizontal View
March 23rd, 2009The new and improved horizontal view maximizes the viewing area of the website you are trying to view. We did away with the vertical scroll bar and tried to make this view simpler and easier to use. Also, the controls have been moved so that they are between frames, instead of on the top. Let us know what you think. Happy viewing…
Shorter URLs
March 21st, 2009We have shortened the URLs for Viewista’s shareable groupmarks. This should make them more friendly for using on micro-blogging applications like Twitter, or any other place where there are character length restrictions. Now, the URL for a shareable groupmark will look like one of the following, depending on which view mode you choose to share:
- http://www.viewista.com/t/qc33xz (two column view)
- http://www.viewista.com/v/qc33xz (vertical view)
- http://www.viewista.com/h/qc33xz (horizontal view)
- http://www.viewista.com/s/qc33xz (slide show view)
Of course, you can still choose your own groupmark names, in which case the alpha-numeric string (qc33xz) will be replaced with the name you choose (eg. 7wonders). Hope this helps!
And we’re live…
